Over the course of the next few months, Porters' Pub will give some of those artists more time in front of audiences and give audiences more of a chance to listen to them perform.
Starting in November and going through at least February, 2017, each month will feature one jazz artist every Thursday.
November: Dan DeChellis

With his latest release, “Moving Mountain’s” DeChellis seeks to blend the classical and jazz elements he acquired in college with the rock and ambient qualities in his own broad listening. This music is accessible to all and embraces a wide variety of influences. He is currently promoting and touring behind his latest release.
December: Chris Cummings Trio

Very much a modern band, the trio is dedicated to honoring the jazz canon without living in the past. Each performance of each piece is an exploration of the moment with stylings that could be compared to Jarrett, Evans, Corea, or Bley.
January 2017: Ron Bogart Trio
February 2017: Jon Ballantyne

Jon is an artist who deftly combines the unknown with the known. Listening to the wondrous sounds he makes at the piano, audiences can never be sure where he will take the music next. There can be a palpable sense that they are hearing a feeling, harmony, melody or rhythm they may be familiar with, and at the same time, they are likely to be figuratively on the edge of their seats, excited, gratified that they are being taken on a musical adventure unlike anything they may have experienced previously.
